We Set Out to Raise $2,000. You Had Other Plans. ($5,900 Other Plans.)
Honestly, we’re still a bit lost for words.
When we announced the Good Friday Appeal stream, $2,000 felt like a stretch. Not because we doubted the community β but because we know how hard it is to get people to open their wallets, especially when there’s no direct benefit to them. Asking people to give simply because it’s the right thing to do is a big ask. Not to mention the cost of living at the moment!
You didn’t hesitate.
From the moment we went live at 6PM AEST on April 3rd, the donations started rolling in and they didn’t stop. What started as “let’s see if we can crack two grand” turned into something we genuinely weren’t prepared for. By the time we wrapped up the night, we’d raised $5,900 for the Royal Children’s Hospital through the Good Friday Appeal.
That’s not us. That’s you.
π° Total Raised
We went in with a goal of $2,000. We walked out having raised $5,900 β nearly three times what we set out to do. On top of that, we gave away 52 products across the night from some of the best developers in the flight sim space.
βοΈ The Flight Plan
We flew with VATPAC across the east coast of Australia on what was designed to be a new-pilot-friendly night on the VATSIM network. The route took us the long way around, stopping at some incredible locations along the way:
Cairns β Townsville β Hamilton Island β Bundaberg β Sunshine Coast β Ballina β Coffs Harbour β Bankstown β Canberra β Bendigo β Port Lincoln
Whether you flew every leg, tagged along for a few stops, or were purely watching from the chat β you were part of it.

π The Giveaways
We gave away 52 products across the night, and none of that would’ve been possible without the developers and partners who stepped up without being asked twice. A genuine thank you to:
Fenix Simulations, AUScene, Shunt Scenery, Parallel 42, SimBlitz, Miltech Simulations, Aerosoft, iniBuilds, VATPAC, Boris Audio Works, NZA Simulations, Mamu Design, SYDsquadron, Aus Flight Simmer (FlightSimMods), Practically Geek, TheFlightDoc, Kenco,Β and everyone else who contributed.
The flight sim community has a reputation for being tight-knit and generous β and nights like this prove it.
What It Means
The Good Friday Appeal has been running for 95 years. Every dollar raised goes directly to supporting the Royal Children’s Hospital β funding research, emergency care, surgeries, and the hundreds of thousands of outpatient appointments that happen every single year. These are real kids, real families, and a hospital that works incredibly hard to be there for them.
We’re proud to have played even a small part in that, it’s crazy to think that we streamed for 24 Hours and 50 Minutes without stopping the stream.
What’s Next
We’re not making any big promises yet β but if the community keeps showing up the way it did on April 3rd, this won’t be the last time we do something like this. Watch this space.
To every single person who donated, tuned in, flew with us, spread the word, or just showed up in chat β thank you. Genuinely.
See you in the air.
